Easing up on the stroke is the most frequently committed error on short putts.

The resulting dismay as the ball dies short of the hole or slides just off the side can be avoided if you concentrate upon making a firm stroke, not just at impact, but after impact as well.

After determining the line of the putt, I aim for a spot just short of the hole over which the ball must travel. Then making sure my head and body remain perfectly still, I stroke firmly, continuing well through the ball.
