Putting Grips – Parallel Fingers

This parallel fingers grip is a very popular grip especially amongst the older population on golfers.

This is very similar to the Reverse Overlap Grip, however both the index fingers are running down the grip. The idea of this grip is so that the two index fingers would keep the putter and your left wrist and arm in a straighter line.

It is a common opinion that by having your putting grip this way, you reduce the amount of wrist movements in your stroke. And if your wrists are firm, it is believed that your putts will go straighter too. Who would have thought huh?

This grip is also very comfortable and easy to get used to. So try it out. Remember, putting isn’t about your grip, it’s about how confident you are and how much you focus on your target line, that’s it.
