Changing Putter Won’t help with Putting Yips

It is common for golfers to change their putters regularly, when they find themselves to struggle with their putting.

Usually, they see some improvements in the first 2 weeks. But soon after that, they get used to this new putter and their old habits show up again.

Why does this happen?

It’s because by having a new putter, it takes their focus off their habitual focuses when putting. So with a different focus, they start to get some different results. But soon enough, that newness of the putter wears off and they start to focus on the same bloody thing that contributed to their yips to start with.

So the key here is not the new putter, it’s where you put your focus!
